Sweet and Spicy Caramel Corn Recipe with Sriracha Almonds

The Perfect Hot Sauce

My husband LOVES Sriracha Sauce! You know, that famous red sauce with the rooster on the bottle? It was first introduced to me as “Rooster Sauce” and now we always have a bottle of it in our house. My husband literally puts this sauce on everything. He will take a couple of bites of whatever I’ve made for dinner and then say, “You know what would be good on this?” Sriracha…. I know!

And it’s got be the Huy Fong Original Sriracha too! I’ve bought him other red hot sauces, but they are not the same! They don’t have that perfect blend of chiles, garlic and vinegar. You’ve gotta use the bottle with the rooster on it. Trust me. And the same goes with these almonds. Other brands try to imitate this authentic Sriracha flavor in their almonds, but these are the only ones to use the Huy Fong brand sauce. And you can tell the difference. Huy Fong uses Premium California almonds that are roasted in peanut oil and then topped with original Sriracha Sauce. Simple, authentic and extremely snackable! My husband can hardly contain his excitement!

Sweet and Spicy Popcorn

Once I heard about the new Sriracha Almonds I immediately had an awesome idea to use this in a snack recipe: Sweet and Spicy Popcorn. The ingredients are super simple and easy, here is what you will need:

  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/3 cup Sriracha Almonds
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. In a large mixing bowl combine popcorn and almonds. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat combine sugar, honey, butter and salt and bring to a boil.  Once the mixture is boiling, remove from heat and let stand for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour mixture over popcorn and nuts and stir well to combine. Pour popcorn mixture onto the baking sheet and spread out to cool.

·  Once cool, break into bite size pieces and enjoy!
