Spring time is finally here. We just dusted off the patio furniture and set up our screened in porch and deck in preparation for some serious outdoor entertaining in the next few months. We love our backyard and love to spend time enjoying our outdoor space. When it comes to outdoor entertaining, drinks that the whole family will enjoy are high on our priority list. Calorie counting is another one of our spring activities so I was looking to create some amazing drinks that taste delicious without blowing all my calories for the day. Splenda to the rescue!
Did you know you can save over 600 calories by swapping out a cup of sugar with Splenda? After getting on the treadmill and seeing how much effort it takes to burn a calorie, I have been more aware of how many I am intaking during the day.
My son has always been a very picky eater. One the only foods he will willingly eat is bananas and peanut butter. I thought I would create a recipe that he would enjoy as well as the rest of the family.
- 2 medium bananas cut up and frozen
- 1/2 cup lo-fat milk
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 2 packets Splenda Sweetener
- 1 cup ice
- Chocolate Chips optional
Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more ice if consistency is too thick. Garnish with chocolate chips if desired.
This smoothie is perfect for a warm spring day out on the porch enjoying family time!
