  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ground cinnamon for serving


  • Add rice, water and salt into Instant Pot. Place the lid on the Instant Pot and seal shut. Close the pressure release valve. Cook on the rice setting. When cooking cycle is complete, quick release the pressure. Open the pot.
  • In a small bowl, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch and vanilla and whisk well. Pour into rice and mix well.
  • Set the pot to saute and cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent browning on the bottom of the insert.
  • Pour into small cups and top with cinnamon.
