I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
So now it is out there… my friend Kait and I have decided that next year we are going to run the Indy 500 Mini Marathon. 13.2 miles of pavement just waiting for my blood sweat and tears. I am sure there will be a lot of tears. Having a goal is very important to me and announcing my goal publicly is going to keep me accountable. I could use your encouragement!
I haven’t run anything like this before. In fact, the last time I ran a race was in high school when I used to run a mile against some other girls my age. I am far from ready, but I am in the middle of my couch 2 5k program, and I have faith that I can do it! It helps that my sister and one of my great friends is going to be there with me.
As I mentioned, I am in the middle of the couch 2 5K program. I am about half way through my second time with the system. The first time I hurt myself because I wasn’t wearing the right kind of shoe. As you can imagine, this time I was going to get it right. I turned to Reebok for a quality running shoe that would withstand a running program designed to get me ready for a mini marathon.
I visited my local Famous Footwear store to see if they had any Reebok running shoes in stock. Unfortunately, my store didn’t carry any in a Women’s style. It didn’t matter though, because I was able to order exactly what I wanted from their website. Immediately when I saw the Reebok Women’s REALFLEX RUN, I knew I found the perfect shoe for me. The colors are my favorite colors at the moment. They look very stylish and colorful. Who doesn’t want to look cute when sweating as they run around the neighborhood?
I am absolutely amazed by how light this shoe is. Immediately after trying them on, I knew they would be perfect for running long distance in. The size runs very true. I purchased a 9.5 (a half a size larger than a shoe I would normally wear). They fit perfectly with my running socks. I was also very happy to see that I could easily take out the insole and replace it with my custom orthotics that I got from my podiatrist. Now I am confident that I won’t repeat my previous injury and will achieve my goal of running the mini!
