Every time I smell fresh pine scent, my mind takes me up to the mountains of Idaho. I have had several memorable family vacations in the Idaho mountains surrounded by rivers, pine trees, and a lot of wildlife.
Most recently when we visited the mountains we camped by Lake Cascade and went fishing with my parents. It was Jonah and Caroline’s very first boat ride. Jonah thought he would catch a lot of fish, but the fish just weren’t biting that weekend. Caroline loved playing next to the lake with her big cousins. She could dig in the sand for hours. She also loved eating her first ice cream cone this summer while we were camping. These family memories are important to me and they all come flooding back with the scent of pine.
Is there a scent that reminds you of a family vacation? Arm & Hammer Laundry has launched a collection with scents inspired by nature in partnership with the National Park Foundation. I’m sure that they jumped into my brain and knew what it was like when I smell the pine scent that reminds me of home.
Right now A&H Laundry is hosting the Sensational Memories Contest. You can enter by submitting your story and photo (if available) describing a favorite memory of travelling that can be recalled from a simple scent. Get this… the winner will receive a family vacation to Yosemite National Park with an expert-curated travel itinerary! Isn’t that amazing! I would love to visit Yosemite National Park with my family.
Additionally, Scholastic is partnering with Arm & Hammer to provide families with 20 Great Outdoor trip ideas on it’s Smart Family Travel platform. Find out why to go, what to do and where to stay at each destination. Also included are fun activities for kids! Each destination comes with a printable to teach them a thing or two about where they’ll be.
