I strive to build character in my students as well as my own kids. Learning what to do in a hard situation takes practice and a lot of self-control. It is a very hard thing for little guys and gals to master. One of the concepts that I talk about almost daily is lying.
Lying is a part of life, teaching young ones (and sometimes older ones) why its important to tell the truth can be challenging. A couple of the resources I rely on are books and shows that my kids can relate to. Having a visual for kids to see can be extremely meaningful.
This month as a part of the Netflix stream team, we created a resource for parents and teachers with some suggestions of shows that help reinforce the importance and ramifications of lying. I also included some new shows out on Netflix this month for the entire family!
Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

For your big kids:
And for teens and parents:
NEW ON NETFLIX for kids and families
I hope these resources will help spark some great conversations with your kids. Being able to talk about why being truthful is important can open up doors to talk about other things.
