I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pier 1 Imports. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
A couple of weeks ago we had some company over. I wanted to celebrate their visit with an outdoor party that we combined with my daughters 2nd birthday. We have been blessed with some great weather so I decided it was time to spruce up our outdoor living space with a few things from Pier 1. If you are a follower of mine on Instagram and Facebook you probably remember seeing some pictures from my shopping trip. For those of you who aren’t followers, (why aren’t you?) here are some of my favorite things I saw when I went shopping.
I fell in love with the cobalt blue dinnerware, but I was so sad that they were out of stock on the large plates. I could have asked them to check other stores, but I saw a green pattern that would go with our decor a little better so I opted for those instead. While I was there I found some fun elephant napkins that pulled everything together so of course I had to get those as well!
I love our new house, but when we moved in last year, everything (and I mean everything) was beige, and not in a modern beige sort of way. I call it builders beige. We have spent the last year transforming our beige palace into something that we love. My husband has redone the deck and painted it with Deckover into a nice chocolate brown. Our house, however, still needs a paint job. As you can see, it is beige on top of a lighter beige. While we didn’t have it in our budget to paint the house, I did find that beautiful blue flower at Pier 1. Their selection of outdoor art is fantastic and I knew I had to have it the moment I laid eyes on it.
While it looks okay against the beige, it is going to stand out even more once I paint the house a modern grey! I love that my guest could enjoy outdoor art right in our backyard deck. It looks great above the grill where everyone’s focus is during an outdoor party!
I love our screened in patio. We have a large black table in the center where a lot of guests can gather around and have dinner. While we had over 20 people at the party, a good portion of them could fit around this large table. Here is one of the place settings that I created entirely from Pier 1.
I love everything about this place setting. The placemats are white and make our black table look very modern. The green patterned plates give the splash of color that we needed on our table (the blue would have been pretty too, but not as bright and cheerful). I love the elephant napkins and the natural looking napkin ring that will look great with a variety of napkins. My favorite items that I found at Pier 1 are the stemless wine glasses. They are not actually glass, they are plastic and are fabulous for outdoor entertaining.
We have been enjoying our outdoor oasis for the past month or so. I need to go back and get a few more place settings for larger parties. I also have my eye on this:
To let you in on a little secret — outdoor rugs tie everything together and really bring a space to life. Simply layer a rug with a beautiful seating collection and colorful cushions and pillows, and you’ve got an outdoor area that makes everyone comfortable and happy! Wouldn’t this outdoor rug look amazing on my screen in patio? It would be so inviting and comfy. I just have to figure out a way to convince my husband to go along!
As you can see, Pier 1 has everything you need to decorate your outdoor space this summer.
