Disclosure: BTFE sent me a $100 gift card to use on the BTFE Marketplace site and asked me to write about my shopping experience.
School is officially out and now is the time to stock up on outdoor games, clothes, gear and treats for the entire family.
The Marketplace is a one stop online shopping store that consists of major retailers like Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and Macy’s, and specialty shops like Oriental Trading Company, Build A Bear Workshop and Young Explorers. By shopping at The Marketplace, a school of your choosing will benefit with a donation.

About Box Tops for Education
General Mills’ Box Tops for Education® program offers families easy, everyday ways to earn cash for their designated school. The program started in 1996 and over the past 15 years, more than 90,000 schools have earned over $400 million through Box Tops for Education, including more than $59 million last school year. Schools in your community are funding field trips, playground equipment, art and science lab supplies and more.
Collected Box Tops coupons are sent to General Mills, who sends the school a check, equivalent to 10 cents for each Box Top redeemed. Schools can earn up to $60,000 per year, up to $20,000 respectively from the Clip, Box Tops Marketplace®, and Reading Room program components, to spend on anything they choose. For additional information, check out btfe.com.
To get started visit www.BTFE.com and register with an account. When you register it will allow you to search for the school that you want your donations to go to.
After you create an account and choose a school your school that your supporting with show up on your homepage on the top right hand side. I was very excited to see that my school met its goal this year. I know we did a lot of encouragement and fun activities to try to get the donations in.
Next, you can search for products and earn a certain amount of eBoxTops for your school with every $10 you spend. The total you earn differs per retailer. For instance, I knew we needed a basketball for the summer. We just bought a new house and it comes with an amazing basketball hoop, but we don’t have a ball yet. I searched for basketball and found several options for us. I decided on this one:
Sports Authority will donate 1.5 Box Tops for every $10 I spend so with this little purchase we earned 3.7 eBox Tops for our school and we are having a lot of fun this summer playing with our new ball!
Shopping at The Marketplace couldn’t be easier. They have all of my favorite stores including The Loft, Disneystore.com, Gap, DSW, Target, and Starbucks. In addition to our basketball I was able to purchase some fun outdoor toys like squirt guns and a little pool for Caroline as well as some cool summer clothes. It was fantastic to be able to purchase everything we need for the summer and support my school at the same time.
This wasn’t my first experience shopping at The Marketplace. A few years ago I did my holiday shopping at BTFE and helped my school earn money. What a fantastic feeling knowing that by doing my normal, everyday shopping I am helping raise money for my school. I can also have everything shipped directly to my house so I can spend more of my summer with my kids!
