Back to School with CafePress

When I went to Michigan on vacation this summer my mother-in-law and I went to this adorable little store to shop.  The store was filled with cute little shirts and gifts.  In this store was a little long-sleeved shirt made for a 5-6 year old that said, “Kindergarten Rocks!”  I thought it was adorable and instantly wanted one for myself (I am a kindergarten teacher).  I asked the lady if they carried them in my size and she said that they didn’t but that they get asked that all the time.

I kept thinking about that shirt when I got back from Michigan and told my husband all about it.  He suggested that I make one for myself and my fellow kindergarten teachers for the first day of school.  Every once in a while he comes up with fantastic ideas so I contacted my favorite online t-shirt customization shop CafePress to see if they could help. CafePress offers the best selection of personalized gifts and unique t-shirts, clothing, mugs, art & posters.  I have reviewed a hoodie earlier this year that you can read all about here.

I created a t-shirt for myself and fellow teachers using CafePress’ customization tool.  I picked out brown t-shirts with pink writing (since we are all girls).  Here we are sporting our new shirts:

At CafePress you can choose from thousands of designs that have already been made, or you can create your own special project.  I love my new t-shirts.  They are perfect for any child returning to school this summer.  Think of your child showing up for the first day of school with a “Second Graders Rock” t-shirt!  I guarantee that they will get a bunch of compliments and several “where did you get that?”   I hope someday I can create a big brother t-shirt for TJ to tell the world he will be a big brother, but that is a little ways away yet.  For now I can create custom t-shirts for his birthdays or events or just for fun! Head on over to CafePress.com to see what you can create!

Back to School With pediped’s New Fall/Winter Collection

I love pediped!  TJ wears his first pair of pediped shoes almost everyday.  They are classic shoes that coordinate with many of TJ’s outfits.  I love that I can throw pediped shoes in the wash-machine to clean them, because lets face it, 16 month olds get dirty and drop a lot of stuff on them.  Well, pediped is back with their new Fall/Winter Collection just in time for back to school shopping.

pediped’s new 2010 Fall/Winter collection debuts the Grip ‘n’Go shoe, a shoe designed specially for active toddlers (hey, I have one of those).  The Grip  ’n’ Go line is a bridge between the pediped Originals and  the pediped Flex line of shoes.  With the inclusion of the Grip ‘n’ Go, pediped now offers a complete footwear system for children from newborn through age 6.

The Grip ‘n’ Go are made with all the benefits of the pediped Originals, only it adds a thin flexible rubber sole.  Your toddler will be able to build confidence as a walker wearing the Grip ‘n’ Go shoes both indoors and outdoors.

TJ received the Josh Original shoes and we love them.  They are a tad too big (as TJ is very small and is still i 12 month shoes, I thought by now he would fit the 18 month size), but these shoes are timeless and will go with any outfit and any season so they will be perfect when he grows into them.  The Originals are perfect for toddlers just beginning to learn how to walk.  They allow for the natural development of your child’s feet.  They feature Velcro fasteners that make them easy for your young child to to put on.  I also love that the pediped Originals give young children the protection they need for both indoors and outdoors.  This is imperative for TJ at school because they go outside and play several times a day.

pediped shoes make wonderful baby shower gifts.  They come packaged in a chic purple gift box, and lets be honest…. women love shoes!

Back To School With TJ Maxx

I love back to school clothes shopping.  Every year before school starts I edit my wardrobe and pick out a few things that I need for the new year.  This year I desperately needed some new brown shoes and a couple of tops.  So… I headed to TJ Maxx.

TJ Maxx is a department store that features amazing deals on clothing and accessories.  Here is a little bit more about TJ Maxx taken from their website:

Since opening its first store in 1977, T.J.Maxx has helped customers maximize their budgets with the same on-trend, in season, first-quality merchandise as department and specialty stores, but for much less. When shoppers compare price tags on merchandise they will find that it’s not just about a low price, but what they are getting for that low price…a powerful combination of high quality, top name, current season merchandise. Amazing savings can be found in every department from apparel for women, men and children to accessories, home, beauty and even jewelry. Also with 10,000 new items arriving to T.J.Maxx stores each week, there is always a fresh, ever-changing assortment of current season merchandise!

I have been shopping at TJ for as long as I can remember.  I love that I can go into a store and see a fantastic handbag by Michael Kors and actually be able to afford it.  Normally in other department stores I would just have to admire from afar some of the designer clothing and accessories.  When I was at TJ Maxx I saw brands such as Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, and many many more.

My shopping trip to TJ Maxx was supposed to be a quick stop to find the perfect brown shoes and maybe a top.  It turned into a long love affair with the baby boy department.  I was so excited to see adorable and classic baby boy clothing that didn’t have a bunch of cartoons plastered all over them.  I found the cutest designer onesies that I picked up for my friends upcoming baby shower (I can’t post a picture of it because she reads the blog and I want it to be a surprise).  Of course there was a ton of little girl clothing as well for all you moms with little girls.

After my love affair ended, I headed over to the women’s clothing where I picked up an adorable little sweater perfect for the chilly air conditioning in my school (for only $10).  I also found the perfect pair of brown shoes with a very small heal.  I actually picked up the same pair of shoes with an alligator print and set them down while I went to the boys department and when I came back they were gone!  A lesson learned… get them while you can this stuff is so amazingly priced that it won’t be on the shelves long.

TJ Maxx is full of all your child’s back to school needs.  In addition to the latest clothing trends, TJ Maxx also carries backpacks and lunch boxes.  You can find fabulous play clothes, pajamas, luggage, shoes, handbags and so much more at incredible prices. So, what are you waiting for?  Head on over to a TJ Maxx near you for the best prices on the most stylish products for back to school.

As TJ is getting older we have been thinking about updating his nursery.  The crib will need to be replace by a toddler beds, and a lot of the decor will need to be updated for an older child. CSN Stores have made my job easier with their massive amount of products they have available on thier many sites.  CSN has over 200 online sites such as Luggage.com, AllModern.com, WritingDesksAndMore.com, Cookware.com, and BedroomFurniture.com. I love shopping online.  I can pick out whatever I need from the comfort of my home.  Whenever I need to send a gift back home to Idaho, I will order it online and have it shipped there so I don’t have to fly with it or send it myself.  I love Linens ‘N Things website because it has such a wonderful range of products from bedding, bath, home decor, outdoor to the perfect gift for anyone on your gift list.

I would love to get this cookware set for my husband for Father’s Day.  Our current cookware is awful and my hubby complains about it almost every time he cooks (which is most of the time during the school year when I am working late).  I would love to surprise him one day with this fancy gourmet cookware.

You can even purchase baby gear from Linens ‘N Things!  They offer highchairs, car seats, strollers, bottles and more.  Almost everything that I had on my baby registry is available online at Linens ‘N Things.

I love a bargain almost as much as I love shopping and Linens ‘N Things is stepping up to the plate.  For a limited time Linens ‘N Things is offering all of my readers free shipping on your order over $26 with the coupon code: MOMBLOG, but hurry this offer ends June 1st.

My Most Triumphant Outlet Shopping Story

It was the day before I would become a mommy.  My parents flew in from Idaho anticipating the arrival of their first grandson and we had to get out.  We drove to the closest Outlet Mall and found great bargains.

I purchased a couple of nursing bras at Maidenform Outlet that were perfect for breastfeeding my little guy after he was born.  I got two for 20 bucks and they still look fantastic a year later.  (I hope to use them again someday).

We found some adorable little man outfits at the Carter’s and The Children’s Place Outlets.  I got this ultra cute hat for BJ for .25 cents (yes I did say .25 cents) that he wore on his first 4th of July.

My favorite outlet store purchase that day had to be my little Coach wrist purse that my mom got for my diaper bag from the Coach Outlet store.  I have used it every day since she got it for me.  It fits so nicely inside of my diaper bag and I never lose my credit cards or loose change inside one of BJ’s diapers.  My mom got this ultra fab leather Coach purse for like $100 that sells for three times that at a regular Coach store.  All in all it was a fabulous day.

If you would like to have your own “Outlet Triumph”, grab the coupon available in this widget and head out on your own outlet shopping trip.  Be sure to visit Twitter Mom’s to tell us more about what bargains you found.
