Why Do I Do This To Myself?

Graduation

I have been waiting and looking forward to summer break for a while now.  2 whole months with my son, going to the zoo and hanging with the cousins to look forward to.  This summer was going to be all about my son.  Well, new laws that passed our state legislature have made it imperative that I go back to school for my graduate degree before July 1st.  So, I enrolled in a class and it started … [Read more...]

A Change of Pace

Summer Fun

Summer is here and with it I have become a stay at home mom (at least for the next 2 months).  I have been looking forward to staying at home with TJ this summer.  With any change of routine there is a learning curve.  Most of the learning is on my half.  I have been going to work every morning teaching other people's children, and to have all this alone time with my son has been amazing. … [Read more...]

Bubble Fun

Bubble Collage

TJ loves bubbles.  We were playing with them the other day for hours!  Here are some pics to enjoy! The dog got into the action as well!  TJ is still learning how to blow the bubbles, he mostly just ends up eating the bubble juice! I hope your enjoying your summer! … [Read more...]

Memorial Day – Remembering My Grandpa

This is the first Memorial Day without my grandpa.  He passed away last November right before Veteran's Day. My Grandpa was in the army during WWII.  He was a pilot who delivered supplies to troops.  He was apart of the OSS and served his country with honor.  I have always been very proud of my grandpa.  He served his country, came home  and provided for his wife and three kids. My … [Read more...]

Mommy Lessons I Learned From My Mom

Like Mother Like daughter

We all know being a mom is hard work!  I am so very thankful that I had such a great role model in my mom growing up.  She became my mommy muse for what type of parent I want to be to my kids.  My mom is so very patient.  She hardly raised her voice to her children, instead opting for a more gentle approach.  I never wanted to disappoint my mom, and any time she said she was disappointed in a … [Read more...]

Lazy Days

Lazy Day

TJ has been sick this past week.  A huge shout out to my Mother in Law, and my husband for staying home from work with him while I went to school (we only had 2 weeks left)!  I hate seeing my little guy sick, all he wanted to do was watch his favorite cartoons Mickey Mouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Of course his best bud is never far, Eli also enjoyed the lazy week! … [Read more...]

Treasuring Everyday Joy – Special Moments With My Son

Mommy

I am thankful every single day that I am a mom.  I had been dreaming about being a mom from a very early age, but it wasn't until I was 31 that I became one.  My son has made me a more patient, caring person.  I have a lot more tollerance towards people now that I am a mom. The best parts about being a mom are when TJ looks at me and says, "I love you mommy."  Sometimes he will also blow me … [Read more...]

Being a Mom Rocks!

Mom and I

I am so absolutely blessed to be a mom!  Today was the best day ever, the only thing missing was my mom.  Living so far away from my parents is very hard, especially when it is a holiday.  I thank my mom so much for teaching me manners, right from wrong, and how to be the best person I can be.  I hope that I can pass along those things to my son. My entire life I have wanted to be a mom. … [Read more...]

Its a Mickey Mouse Party for TJ!

Mickey Mouse Ears

I am still in shock that my little man turned two last weekend!  It seems like just yesterday that we were looking through a book of Baby Names trying to figure out what we were going to name him! Of course I had to pick the perfect theme for my little guy and he loves nothing more (except for his daddy) than Mickey Mouse!  I wanted to do something else, but I just couldn't when I saw how much … [Read more...]

To TJ on Your Second Birthday

TJ smile

I can not believe that it has been two years since you were born.  I walked into that hospital with so much anticipation, wanting nothing more than to be a mom.  What I got was the most beautiful, kind, sweet boy full of life who has made me much more than just a mom.  Being your mom has made me a more loving, compassionate human being and I can not thank you enough! This year you have … [Read more...]
