I can’t believe how fast the year has already gone, it is already the first of February.  Today at school all my kiddos were so excited about Valentine’s Day.  I was trying to tell them all about the other holiday’s this month, but they only had eyes for the 14th.  Who can blame them?  Valentine’s Day is a day full of candy and love and presents!  It got me thinking that I only have a couple of weeks to find something for my son and my husband.  While my husband and I usually don’t exchange gifts for Valentine’s Day, I did find a few things from Red Envelope that I would love to get for him!

I loved this simple pearl necklace because it symbolizes my two children (TJ and baby girl due in May).  I love that it will go with most everything that I own.  I just got some pearl earrings last month and this matches it perfectly.  I will love and cherish this necklace for years to come.

Coco is growing up way too fast these days.  He is truly all boy and loves to be rough and tough with everyone and everything.  My sister in law had mentioned getting him a rocking horse for his birthday, which I thought was a great idea considering he loves animals and is completely fearless.  Unfortunately, our house is getting smaller by the second because of all his toys and games, so I wanted to be sure we could find him a rocking horse that was of great quality as well as safe and not enormous in size.

The Rockin’ Rider from Tek Nek Toys was exactly what we wanted for him!  It small enough that it stores perfectly in a corner and it is soft and perfect in size so Coco can get on and off the horse himself.  It is also sturdy and steady enough that I know it won’t tip over the second he sits on it.

The Rockin’ Rider looks really authentic because of the soft fur and life-like features – which has thrown off the dog quite a bit.  Coco’s favorite part about the horse is how he can press the ears and the mouth moves and sings a cute little song and makes horse noises. He also loves to try to feed the horse his toys as the mouth moves.

I love how the Rockin’ Rider encourages Coco to learn how to move it by rocking it on his own as well as helps his balance as he sits alone and holds onto the peg handles.  We chose the brown color for Coco, but it also comes in Pink for your little girls.  The great thing about the Rockin’ Rider Plush Rocker is that he can easily grow into it and use it for several more years since the age recommendation is up to 3 years of age.  This rocking horse was a great idea – and it would make a perfect holiday gift for your toddler this holiday season!

I am so excited to share TJ’s fun new tractor from Step 2.  I don’t know where his love for tractors came from, but whenever we see one he literally screams out loud, “Tractor, Mommy!”  When I saw the Pedal Farm Tractor I knew that TJ would love it.

Step2 is a wonderful company who is the largest American manufacturer of preschool and toddler toys. The Step2 family also includes Thinkativity and Infantino (you can read some of my Infantino reviews here and here). We have loved our Step 2 products that we have reviewed in the past.  The Sand and Water Fun Farm was a perfect toy for this summer and of course the Play Up Toddler Swing and Slide is still a big hit for outdoor play.

The Pedal Farm Tractor was pretty easy to put together.  The parts were clearly labeled and the directions were detailed. We needed a rubber maillot, and a screwdriver and we were all set.

TJ is 2 1/2 years old and is pretty small for his age.  The recommended age for the tractor is 3-5 years.  The tractor was too big for him to pedal on his own, but that didn’t stop him!  He loved being pushed around in the tractor and would use his feet to move himself around.

The steering wheel is easy for my son to maneuver and use.  The tractor’s tires are large and durable and will travel over most terrain.  I can see TJ going through a bunch of mud puddles here soon.

I had a fantastic Mother’s Day this year.  My husband spoiled me this year.  He got me a massage that I desperately need, and he cooked and cleaned the house (although to be honest he does do most of the cleaning) while I got to relax and play with TJ.  We had a fabulous brunch with his family at our traditional hotel.  TJ and his cousins danced and had a blast. It was the perfect day.

I would love to do something special for my husband this year!  I find it very difficult to find the perfect gift for men.  He is a musician and I learned long ago that I have absolutely no ideas what gifts he wants or would need for his music stuff.  If he needs something we usually just save up for it and buy it.  I don’t even need to buy something for him, but I am not having any luck thinking of a great idea.

Menaul Art Printing is an art studio in Clearwater, FL run  by Scott and Jerri Menaul. The studio also serves as a gallery for Scott’s original abstract artwork. I immediately knew I wanted to take one of our wedding photos and turn it into a canvas for our bedroom.  Here is our finished product:

I love having this special photograph hanging in our bedroom.  Our wedding day was magical and one of the best days of my life.  Waking up to the canvas makes me smile inside.  The canvas itself is 16 x 20 and is wrapped with the photograph on all sides of the frame.  Photo Canvas would make a great gift for the new parents, newlyweds, grandparents and practically anyone on your list that loves family photos.

The holiday’s in my family consist of several family get-togethers that include a lot of food.  I love being in charge of the appetizers because I love finger foods.  I am constantly trying to find creative ways of displaying the appetizers that I create.  One fabulous way of displaying different meats and cheeses is using an elegant chopping block.  I recently was sent a wine shaped chopping block form Weber’s Cabinets to review for the holiday season.

Made with North American maple and cherry hardwood this chopping block is 7 ¼”x 15” and 2” thick. The bottle neck size is 2 ½” x 6 ¼” and 2” thick. Each butcher block is made by hand in Lodi, California and the placing of the blocks is in a random fashion. Every block is one of a kind. To say that it is stunning is not saying enough about this chopping block.  It is beautiful and would be a fabulous addition to any holiday display.

The large chopping block allows us to use it over one of our sinks, freeing up much needed preperation space in our very tiny kitchen.

Here is a close-up of the detail that goes into each block.  Each one is unique and makes a perfect gift for any foodie!  You will fall in love with these as soon as you see them.
