It’s hard to believe that Coco has finally reached the toddler milestone.  These days, he’s a walking machine – which means it is time to get him used to shoes.  Unfortunately, the kid hates socks and with no socks, it makes it hard for me as a mom to put shoes on him comfortably.  Whether we’re in the car, in his crib or playing in the living room, Coco will rip those socks off the second he gets the chance.  Since he’s a boy, I can’t buy him a pair of tights since the majority of tights are made for girls.  However, recently a friend introduced to me a product called Baby Undersocks.  They are socks attached to pants, like footed pajamas, but easier to put on and thin enough to be worn under jeans or other pants.  The fabric is super soft and made from bamboo fabric which is hypoallergenic and sensitive to baby’s skin.  Even better is the gender neutral side of this product so it can be used for a girl or a boy.
The first time I tried Baby Undersocks out was when CoCo was recently battling, yet another, fever virus.  I slipped the Baby Undersocks on over a long-sleeved onsie to keep him comfy as his temp would fluctuate.  Even as his fever broke, the Baby Undersocks kept him very comfortable – not too hot or too chilled.  The bamboo fabric helped regulate the temperature even as his body had it’s highs and lows.  I was really impressed with how comfortable Coco stayed, even when he was feeling absolutely crummy.  Another great feature of the Baby Undersocks are the grips on the bottom of the feet that help keep Coco from slipping around as he wobbles to and fro.  Also, as you can see from the picture, Coco was unsuccessful from trying to rip these puppies off – because the socks are attached to the pants, his little feetsies stayed warm, despite his biggest effort to get them off!
With the fall and winter seasons coming up and the cooler temperatures right around the corner, I am excited to use my Baby Undersocks under Coco’s clothes to keep him warm – especially his little calves and legs that are exposed to the wind and cold when being carried in and out of places.  Baby Undersocks are much thinner than regular long underwear yet just as warm which will ensure he is comfortable as he spends his days at daycare.

I love back to school shopping.  Picking out school supplies and new clothing is one of my favorite things to do in August.  As I am going to the stores looking for things, I usually get so frustrated at the clothing selection for boys.  It seems like the girls get all the cute, adorable outfits, and all the boys get are character t-shirts and jeans.  When I find handsome, adorable boys clothing I get really excited and can’t wait to tell all of my mommy friends about it.  This is exactly what I did the first time I learned about Tea Collection.

I was super excited when Tea Collection agreed to work with me on a review.  They sent us 3 pieces from their Fall 2011 collection to try out.  The first shirt was the Jaquares de Chiapas tee.  TJ loved this the moment he saw it because of the soccer ball.  I thought that for a screen print that it was grown up and not very “charactery”.  This shirt has been a favorite since it arrived and will go with jeans or khakis.

I have a hard time picking my personal favorite out of the las two pieces.  I love both the Happy Hoodie and the Hombres Henley.  The hoodie is a perfect addition to any little boy’s fall wardrobe.  The color is perfect and it is light and airy for those days where a long sleeved shirt is necessary, but a jacket would be too warm.  The Henley is a great shirt for play time or to go out for dinner with the family.  I love the multi-colored buttons and the three quarter sleeve.  The color is perfect for TJ because it complements his eye color very well.

Here are some photos that we took.  TJ was not being very co-operative so I ended up promising him M&M’s if he posed for the camera (and there you see his cheesy grin).  It worked perfectly, but wasn’t one of my fondest parenting moves ever!

I love all three of the pieces we received from Tea Collection.  They are stylish and durable.  I have washed each of these shirts several times since we got them and they look just like new!  I love that my little man can have a little style as he heads to preschool this fall.

I love my jeans and practically live in them when I am not at work.  I am really picky about the jeans that I wear and usually stick to my favorite brand that I know will fit me and look good.  When approached to review Levi’s new dENIZEN Jeans (a Target exclusive)  I wasn’t expecting much, but I tried them out.  I asked for the dark wash in the mid rise boot cut style.

My husband tells me that the jeans look great on me (which they have to because my husband isn’t the type who gives out complements if he doesn’t mean them).  The fabric is very stretchy and tight but extremely comfortable.

I most commonly wear a size 6 sometimes a 4, this pair of jeans is a size 8 so they definitely run small. I received my jeans in the “short” size even though I am 5’9″ so I guess I sent over my measurements incorrectly.  My next pair will be regular length which will add a couple of inches.  I like how forgiving the jeans are.  They sculpt to most any body shape and are pretty forgiving.

I am finding it harder and harder to find cute summer clothes in my age range.  I am no longer in my 20′s so I don’t want to look like I am trying to be, but I am also not in my 40′s and I don’t want to look any older than I am.  During the school year it isn’t a problem, there seems to be a lot of options for the workplace, but for the summer I often find myself having to search around for a while.  I was approached by a company to review their summer line of clothing, and to my surprise I found a lot of things that would be perfect for summer!  Fresh Produce is known for their casual, resort, and sportswear lines of clothing.  They have a large range of fashions from tanks and camis, tunics, capris, and party dresses.

Every other year my husband, TJ and I go with our extending family to a resort in Michigan on the lake.  These clothes remind me of the time that we spend there.  The beach wear and resort wear would be perfect for our week in the sun.  The fun flowing shirts and dresses make a perfect cover up after a long day at the beach.  The colors and prints are fun and scream out summertime.

I was sent the Sayulita Tunic, Simply Cami in white and Getaway Clamdiggers also in white.  I was very excited when I opened the package.  The colors and fabric were perfect for the coming summer months.

I have to tell you all about the cami.  While you can’t see it underneath my tunic, the white cami is amazing!  I have a very hard time finding camis that fit right, feel good, and most importantly are long enough on my long torso.  This cami has it all.  I think I will buy one in every color!  I usually wear a size small to medium in shirts and the small is a perfect fit for me.  The capris are also very roomy and I have plenty of space in the small size (I am normally a size 6).  I have washed and dried all of the clothes and they look just as good as new.  I did have to iron the pants (us lazy girls usually don’t like to do that) but these pictures were taken after I washed everything.  The fabric is perfect for the very hot summer days we have been experiencing here in Indiana.  It is lightweight and flowy and extremely comfortable.  I feel like I have finally found a place where I can purchase age appropriate clothing that still has style.

I am so very excited to show you my new custom design t-shirt from Just Jen!  I have been a huge fan of Just Jen ever since I reviewed my first shirt last year. Just Jen specializes in custom made women’s t-shirts and girls t-shirts made with rhinestones.  You can custom create a design or customize a design already created on their website. During the Christmas Holidays I reviewed a long sleeved holiday shirt that was designed by Just Jen.  This time around I wanted to do something personal and decided to make my own tank top for the summer.  It didn’t take me long to figure out what I wanted on my tank… this summer it is all about spending time with my son!

While I wear many hats  (I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a teacher, a dreamer, and a whole lot more) I wanted to have something to remember this summer that TJ and I got to spend together. Designing the tank top was a lot of fun.  In addition to deciding what to put on the shirt, I was able to customize the symbol and all of the rhinestone colors that you see on the shirt.  It arrived in an adorable gift bag and looked like this:

Knowing the brand, I chose a size larger than I actually was.  I normally would wear a size small so I chose a medium and to be perfectly honest, I could have gone a large and still been fine.  You can see that I like to layer my tanks so a larger one would have worked well to do this. The tank isn’t a longer tank and I like to have shirts that are a little longer because I have a long torso.  Having the extra tank underneath took care of the problem for me.

I have washed my Just Jen shirts in a normal laundry load and they have held up fabulously! The colors of the rinestones are very bright and vibrant.  I wanted something fun and in colors that I like to wear.  I have been so happy with my tank that I have worn it several times already.

I have the hardest time finding good bras.  Maybe because I am not very busty, but I have a hard time finding bras whose straps aren’t constantly falling down.  I hate it.  Here I am trying to teach a bunch of 5 year-old while constantly pulling up my bra strap.  No matter how much I adjust the straps they either fall down, or the bra cups come up (if you know what I mean).  All I want is a comfortable bra that looks normal under my clothes.

When I went to California for the premiere of Gnomeo and Juliet, I wanted to wear something classic for the red carpet.  I started my search online and found a fantastic little shop called Shabby Apple.  They had the dress that I really wanted, a simple black dress with a lot of style.  This is the dress that I picked out:

TJ is a very skinny little guy.  I am not sure what happened since he was such a chunkster when he was a baby, but he is very little.  We have a hard time finding pants that fit him.  He needs the length, but a lot of the pants that fit him in the legs don’t fit him in the waist.  Dapper Snappers has made this problem a whole lot easier.

We have been trying them out over the past couple of weeks and I have been pretty impressed.  They are so simple to attach.  All I have to do is feed it through the belt loops in the back of TJ’s pants and then snap either side of them.  While it looks kinda odd, they work.  I love that they come in all different styles and colors to match your child’s wardrobe.  We got the cute camouflage style and it works with a lot of TJ’s outfits. If you have a girl they also carry many different styles that work for girl’s clothing. I have also washed it in my washing machine and they are very durable.  It still looks as good as new!

My husband and I were extremely sick last year the day before we celebrated the holidays with his side of the family.  Because we were still recuperating, I wasn’t able to coordinate a holiday outfit for TJ to wear to our holiday celebration. We love his new outfit.  It is casual, yet dressy enough for our family holiday celebrations.  He looks so dashing, just like a little man. The dark denim jeans are a perfect way to dress up a lot of outfits that he already has in his closet. The grey turtle neck shirt was a great undershirt to the sweater.  I thought TJ would hate wearing it, but he surprised me and loved it.  I love that he can wear it under a lot of shirts when it is cold outside.  It also looks great on its own.

We also received a pair of footie pajamas.  I love the whimsical numbers all over the pajama.  He looks so adorable, and I can feel confident that he will stay toasty warm all through the night even on the coldest winter days.
