Oh how I love sandwiches! You all know how much I love comfort food and sandwiches are on the top of that list. One of my favorite sandwiches is a ham and cheese panini with a slice of crisp apple. It is delicious! (Now my mouth is watering… I should have waited until after dinner to write this)
My son prefers an old-fashioned Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, although I have to use the Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and cut it out or he won’t eat it! His daddy loves a really good grilled cheese sandwich. He makes the most delicious ones I have ever tasted. His secret is to use a blend of cheeses, usually cheddar, mozzarella and a bit of Parmesan. He also uses a really good piece of bread, not the “whatever we have on hand” bread that TJ and I use.

My ultimate panini – I get thick sliced rye bread from the bakery. Lightly brush with olive oil and put on the grill. Add turkey, monterey jack cheese slices, crisp bacon slices and russian dressing. Cook until the cheese is oozing, cut in half and savor the goodness!
I don’t even need to goto Kraft to figure out my ultimate sandwich for this panini grill. I love ruben sandwiches, with extra sauerkraut. A good rye bread with caraway seeds and it has to have aged swiss cheese on it. Thousand Island dressing and then grilled till golden brown. Even better if it is served with a good kosher dill pickle on the side.

Mine is turkey tomato and bacon on lightly toasted french bread with garlic mayo

First I toast my crusty Italian Bread.
I cut it open and put the following on both sides:
Mayo, olive oil, garlic salt and oregano.
Then I add the following very thinly sliced meats:
Italian salami, honey ham, honey turkey, smoked ham and mortadella.
I then add a few slices of aged provolone.
I then dice up some sweet onions and top the top of the bread with them.
I add shredded romain lettuce and sliced tomatoes and top it.
Yum!
