To kick of our month long February Foodie Finds I thought it was appropriate to start off with my morning routine…coffee.
Every morning I wake up and I must have a cup of coffee. Yes, I am one of those people. I am very grouchy when I don’t have my cup of coffee. Therefore my husband and my son have both learned how to use our Tassimo in order to bring mommy a cup of coffee in the morning!
I love my Tassimo. I have reviewed the Tassimo T65 last year, but I was so very lucky to test out the new T20 model recently.
Set up for the Tassimo is as easy as running a few cups of water through the system. All that needs to be done is to put in the cleaning disk and run a few cups of water through the Tassimo. It will be up and ready to run in a matter of minutes.
This is what separates the Tassimo from its competition, it makes specialty drinks as well as regular coffee! If you love going to coffee shops for your latte, cappuccino or espresso, this is the machine for you. You will save a lot of money and energy by purchasing a Tassimo. The results are the same as my local Starbucks at a fraction of the price. Each Tassimo T-Disc has a bar code on it and the machine knows how much water to add by reading the bar code. This ensures that you will have a perfect cup of coffee each time.
To make a cup of coffee, place a T-disc into the top of the machine with the bar code down. Close the lid and press the button. Here is my demonstration video from my previous review. The only difference between the T20 and the T65 model in the review is the LCD screen.
I find my T-discs at Target. I have heard a lot of complaints about the price of the T-discs, but for me I don’t believe it is any more than what I was paying before. I don’t waste as much either, and I know that I have saved a lot of money by not going to Starbucks as often.
I love how this machine takes up less space on my counter than my old 10 cup coffee maker did. My kitchen is very small and counter space is very limited. I only keep the essentials on the counter and the Tassimo is one of those.
If you are the only person in your household who drinks coffee, the Tassimo is a perfect fit for you! There is no wasted half pot of coffee to clean up. There is no more fussing with filters and grounds, it is so simple and easy for just about anyone. As I am writing this, I realize that this would be a great gift for a college student. It would be perfect for a dorm room.

If you need to make enough coffee for 6 people in a short amount of time, this will not work for you. What I can tell you is that, once you drink some of the coffee and other beverages the Tassimo T20 makes, you will not be getting out the old drip maker anymore. I personally think it’s a good idea to have both, but you will have a hard time drinking regular coffee now. That’s all I have to say right now.
