The Buick Enclave… A Parent’s Dream

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to drive the 2010 Buick Enclave to our family vacation spot in Michigan.  You can read about our experiences here and here. I am here to tell you that the Buick Enclave is a dream come true for parents with children.

When we were car shopping earlier in the year we were looking for a small SUV so that we could easily transport TJ and the dog in the same vehicle. When we were looking we briefly thought about the idea of purchasing a minivan for all the extra space but quickly decided that we weren’t ready to be minivan parents yet.  Well, with the Buick Enclave you have the best of both worlds.  The Enclave is a sleek luxury SUV that accommodates 7 people with its third row seat.  You can fold down the third row seating and have extra cargo space in the back. We had room for TJ, another passenger, myself, my husband, and plenty of room for a couple of dogs if we wanted to.

The trip to Michigan was comfortable and extremely smooth.  The Buick Enclave is the perfect vehicle for road trips with its onboard navigation system and DVD system for the rear passengers.  TJ loved watching Elmo and Toy Story while mommy and daddy drove and listened to NPR.  Here he is with his headphones on:

My husband and I also took advantage of the DVD player.  One morning while on vacation my husband couldn’t sleep and he didn’t want to keep TJ and I up all night.  He went out to the Enclave and watched a movie while we slept.  I also went in and took a little mommy alone time out in the Enclave when I really needed a break (a week in a small little room can be a little claustrophobic for anyone).

We were able to get away for one day during our vacation and went on a wine tour with Joe’s brother and sister-in-law.  We took the Buick on a beautiful ride up a Michigan Peninsula taking in the views and sampling the best wines Michigan has to offer.  Having the two sunroofs was so wonderful while sightseeing.  The passengers in the back seat had beautiful views and a lot of natural light.  They give the Buick two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Looks like a sweet ride. I am sure you had a great ride and trip to you vacation spot. We are a mini van family and have been since 2005. We have 3 kids though but once the 14 yr old heads off to college the Buick Enclave looks like it would be perfect for us.

      Tenille,

I know. One would think we didn’t need half that amount of stuff for three people, but I promise we used it all!

You are soooo lucky to have had the dvd player for the vacation; my kids are horrible travellers — being able to watch their favorite movies would probably make all the difference.

    Gorgeous car — I’m jealous!

This has so many AMAZING features! I can’t even decide what would be my favorite. This is certainly on the list for us to check out when our lease is up in 8 months with GM.

Looks nice and roomy. I have three kiddos so think its a tad bit small for us though.
