Casio EXILIM EX-Z550 Digital Camera Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

I love taking pictures.  I have one of those fancy DSLR cameras that I absolutely love.  The only problem I find is that it is way to burdensome to carry everywhere and I end up missing adorable moments with my son.  I really wanted to check out a point-and-shoot camera that is small enough to carry in my pocket or handbag.  Casio has a very large lineup of point-and-shoot cameras to choose from and they recently sent me the newest camera in the EXILIM product line the EX-Z550.

Casio is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of consumer electronics and business equipment solutions, it was established in 1957.  They produce products including calculators, keyboards, digital cameras, business projectors, disc title and label printers, watches, cash registers and other consumer electronic products. I have owned a Casio digital camera in the past and enjoyed my experience but I broke the camera a few years ago and haven’t had one since.

I have been using the Casio EXILIM EX-Z550 for the past month and have really enjoyed using it.  It is extremely user friendly and easy for a novice.

Offering Casio’s amazing Dynamic Photo with e-Greetings in a compact slim body design with an eye on finish detailing. This 14 megapixel camera with a 2.7” LCD monitor is also capable of recording HD video at 720p.

All of the pictures in the past month that have been posted on A Mom’s Impression have been taken with my Casio Ex-Z550.  As you can see, the EX-Z550 takes very nice pictures for a point-and-shoot camera.  I love that is has over 14 pixels so that I can safely enlarge my photos for framing and display in my house (most of our house’s decor is photographs so this is very important to us).

If you are looking for a camera that also has an HD video feature this is the camera for you. I have used this feature once when I left my video camera at home and thought that the video came out really clear. I know people would never know that I filmed using a digital camera instead of a digital video camera.  I also have been enjoying the Premium Auto Feature that automatically optimises settings for exposure, ISO speed, focus, blur correction, tonal range,  and colour balance.  When using the Premium Auto Mode, the pictures take an extra few seconds to appear on the monitor.  The first few times that I used this feature I thought I did something wrong, so just beware.  The pictures turn out wonderful using the Premium Auto Mode.

I have really enjoyed having my Casio camera with me for all those little moments with TJ and my family.  I loved knowing that even though I don’t have my DSLR with me I can still take fantastic pictures!
