I love buying accessories for myself and my home that are made from local artists.  It is wonderful to know that not everyone in the neighborhood is sitting around staring at the same table lamp that I have.  I also feel like it is important to support the artists who are so talented and a lot of times are struggling to make a living because they are doing what they love.  In addition to local artists I  love buying unique accessories from the places that I travel to (or used to travel to before we had kids).  When my husband and I got engaged we were in ST. John and I found this local jewelry store that had a marriage bracelet native to ST. John.  In addition to my new sparkly ring, I wore the bracelet everyday until I broke it.  I still have the pieces.  While we don’t have the luxury of traveling much anymore, I found a wonderful site online that celebrates talented artists around the world with unique home decor, jewelry, and corporate gifts made by the artists themselves.

There is so much wonderful pieces to choose from at NOVICA.  I had a hard time choosing something to review.  I found some great cobalt glassware for my kitchen that I loved.  Here is a picture:

but… I decided to treat myself with these gorgeous pair of earrings.

Guillermo Arregui, a Spaniard who currently resides in Mexico, is the artist behind the sterling silver dangle earrings, ‘Deco Moon.’ I decided on these earrings because they are contemporary and will go with a dressy outfit and also a casual one.  The Deco Moon earrings retail for $67.95 and is totally worth every penny.  Here is a picture of how they look on…

I love these earrings. In fact, all of NOVICA’s handmade jewerly is fabulous.  They feel and look great, and I know that not every 30-something woman is going to be wearing them. I might not have picked them up from Mexico myself, but they are special none the less.  Supporting artists from around the world is icing on the cake!
