It’s about time Eli got in on the reviewing action in our family. He has afterall been a family member longer than BJ. And if any dog can determine if a product is durable, it is our 85 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback. Purrfectplay is an online pet boutique shop that produces dye-free organic dog and cat toys. Purrfectplay is dedicated to sustainable fair trade principles and therefore only uses organic, dye-free, and reclaimed materials in all of their products. They also contribute to The Shirley Heinze Land Trust, a non-profit organizations that preserves and protects the unique ecosystems of the Indiana Dunes region (our home state). Not only does Purrfectplay care about the environment, they care about animals. Five percent of each sale is given to no-kill and rescue animal organizations. This is company I can feel good about supporting!
So are the products durable enough to stand up to a 85 pound dog? We were sent a Large Tug Toy, Super Jumbo Wool Ball, and the Large Leash Pouch for review. Eli loves to play tug of war. During the winter months we have gone through a lot of tug toys in order to keep him active (he loves to exercise and in the winter he doesn’t get out as much as he wants to). I was a little concerned about the Large Tug Toy when I took it out of the package because I wasn’t sure if it would hold up to Eli’s rough play. I was surprised at how durable it actually was. We have played tug almost daily for the past two weeks and the Tug Toy looks almost as good as new! The Tug Toy is made out of certified organic cotton scraps left over from an organic t-shirt company. Each toy is hand braided and includes a tag made from old dog calendars, a true eco-friendly pet product.
Eli can destroy a tennis ball within 5 minutes if he really felt like it, so I was very interested in how the Super Jumbo Wool Ball would withstand Eli’s sharp teeth. Here is a little bit about Purrfectplay’s wool balls taken from their website:
Our organic wool comes from small family farms all over the U.S., but mainly from the Midwest where we live. It has taken us many months of experimentation to develop a wool ball which will be fun and durable. Our wool balls are hand formed from sustainably produced dye-free wool which has only been processed with gentle non-toxic soaps. Wool balls smell of sheep and meadow air, reminding your pets of the great outdoors.
Eli loves his wool ball. He has not destroyed it to date, but it’s not for lack of trying. I love how big the ball is. It is hard to find large-sized balls for my large-sized dog. Like I said earlier, he can destroy small balls within minutes wich is a waste of money. Included with our wool ball was a washing bag. To clean your ball you simply put it in the bag and tie it shut. After it has been washed you take it out and roll it in your hands and then air or machine dry it. I love that you can wash these so easily. This is the most durable dog ball I have had tried since Eli arrived into our family 4 years ago.
Lastly, we were given a Large Leash Pouch with a few BioBags to try out. I love the Leash Pouch. I can’t count how many times we have gone on a walk and forgotten a grocery sack to pick up after Eli. The Leash Pouch is made from reclaimed wool sweaters that would have been thrown away if not remade into these one of a kind pouches. We have used leash poop bags before, but what makes Purrfectplay’s leash bags different is that it also includes a pocket that you can keep snacks, or keys, in as well. You can attach the Leash Pouch onto the handle of your leash. We will be attaching it to our stroller when we go for family walks (which unfortunately hasn’t been very often with all this snow we still have).
I love promoting eco-friendly products and stores and I am excited that our furry family members can benefit from “Going Green” as well as us humans can. If you have a pet, please visit and purchase your next toy (or any of your pet needs) from Purrfectplay.

the kitty kitten is so cute.. reminds me of that old bedtime “story” my mum use to tell me.. and my sister says it to my niece and nephew.. kittens that lost their mittens… lol!

Yes I have 3 dogs and 1 cat.
Pumpkin is my little girl, about 3-4 years old [times flies =0] she’s still my big baby dog.. she runs in circles when you say “outside”.. it’s insane, she plowed into the end table yesterday and knocked a glass cup over.. it shattered like diamonds.. freaking crazy dog.
Buster is my eldest brothers dog.. got him maybe 5-6 years ago from the humane society… he moved out 3 years ago and can’t take Buster with him so he’s basically our dog now.. lol.. He’s always getting out of the yard! it’s a thing we live in the middle of nowhere but also a bad thing as there’s farmers who protect their animals with shotguns and will shoot anything that comes into their land so.. =/
Pepper is the oldest dog.. she’s about 9 years old.. my other brothers dog.. he’s moved out and has kids and cant take her so she’s ‘our’ now.. sadly she’s most likely on her last leg so to speak.. No really eating food but drinking up a storm and has recently lost a noticeable amount of weight.. she’s usually a hefty dog too.. which gets me all teary eyed because she’s ben with us so long.. =(
lastly is my ‘kitten’ [almsot 8 months old], Boots.. my parents got him from my aunt for me… He’s insane! runs around like a damn loon, jumping ontop of the fridge and sleeps up there.. goes into every nook and krany of the houe too find play things and usualyl com sout covered in dust and cobwebs -.- He’s forever trying to dominate my sister and her kids [probably because they have a female cat that always seems to be in heat] but it’s a funny sight to see. Sadly for me Boots isn’t the cuddling type of cat.. He’d rather lay on my pillow next to my head and shiver all night than lay under my blankets or in his blankets.. lol
We’ve had some weird animals in my family but that cat beats them all I think..

I would definitely try the wool ball. Our dog is a super chewer and we have yet to find a “toy” she can’t destroy. We rely on beef shanks and knuckles.
what product I would purchase for my pet: One of the Dog Bandanas, because it would look super cute on her!
Email: SweetFantasyStar@hotmail.com
We have a dog, she’s almost a year old (she will be so in March) so she’s always full of energy and super playful. But she’s also a nice dog to play with, she’s big but she takes it easy one me
Those bone like things are gone within a day, but her toys seem to last pretty well
Blogged about it here: http://beautyvibes.blogspot.com/2010/02/interesting-giveaway.html
I like the Large Decorated Bone with squeakers at both ends.
My furry best friends name is Harley, he’s an Australian Shepherd mix. I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 6 months and I am so glad I found him. He’s such a character, always doing something that makes me and my Husband laugh. He’s such a sweet boy, he just loves giving kisses to everyone he meets and loves playing with other dogs!

I love all the dog toys, I have little dogs but they still tear toys apart. Love the ball and the bone and the tug, My dogs have a basket in the living room filled with toys and I am always throwing away the ones they tear up.
I have 4 Maltese and 3 Pomeranians, and I breed them so we have puppies during the year. All our puppie leave here with a goodie bag, of food, puppy pads, treats and a toy, I would so love to send one with them that would not get torn apart in a few weeks. Something safe for puppies..
I would like to get the Super Jumbo Wool Ball for my dog!
I have a big, goofy, loveable 4 year old black lab/great dane mix and a cat. The cat is the boss.
My dogs would love the small decorated bones
I would buy a wool ball for my Sophie.
I have a bichon frise named Sophie. She is super protective of me. My family thinks she is spoiled, but she’s my one and only “doghter.”

I’d buy a wool or felt ball – our dog LOVES her baseball, but we have to keep it up our of reach when we’re not around otherwise she destroys it. Sounds like these may hold up better…
And for a bonus entry, we have poodles (husband has allergies). My parent’s keep two toy poodles (one was mine and one was my brother’s growing up, and my family has strong feelings about not splitting them up plus my parents like having dogs around…complicated). We did ‘shared custody’ with them for a while, but we wanted a dog around more often so got a standard poodle puppy, and then adopted a 6-year-old standard poodle 5 months later. They get along great, and are so funny. And every once in a while we end up with all 4, which is a little crazy but a lot of fun. Oh and to clarify above – the puppy loves her baseball. The older one’s favorite activity is to play tug, so he’d have a great time with this toy.
I would get the Eco Tug Toy!
Sammie is a complete mutt. We think she is a pit bull/coon hound mix. She is 8 months old and about 40 lbs. She can destroy any toy that she touches. We have quit buying her fabric toys because they are ripped apart in minutes. She luckily does not destroy furniture or belongings. She is also a snuggly puppy and makes dinosaur noises when she sleeps.
My dog loves anything with squeakers. The wool ball looks awesome too!
My dog’s name is Sophie, a daschund.
I would buy the wool ball.
