Silikids

Keeping our children healthy is a concern of all moms.  We are constantly trying to find the safest products available for our kids.  Two moms set out to create products using silicone because of all the wonderful benefits that it offers and created a company called Silikids. Silicone is non-porus making it a great material for kids because bacteria can’t hide in it.  Silicone can also withstand high temperatures making it easy to boil and sterilize it.  Silikids recognized that silicone is clean, BPA-free, safe, green, and hypo allergenic and created a company that uses this material in all of their children’s products. Silikidsoffers silipads (knee pads for crawlers), silibottles (glass bottles with a silicone cover), silibibs, siliskin, and now siliskin glass (a glass cup with a silicone cover).

We received a Tiffany Blue silibib for review.  BJ has already been through a lot of bibs in his short eating career (thanks a lot in part to the dog who thinks bibs are food and destroys them if we aren’t looking).  I have become a connoisseur of durable bibs.  When we received our bib I was very impressed with how durable silicone is.  I hadn’t thought of using silicone as a bib material, but after using our silibib I am wondering to myself why there aren’t more companies using silicone as a bib material.  The only tricky part to the bib is how it hooks.  You attach the bib by placing two knobs through two holes in the bib.  I found it tricky at first but now it is really simple to do.  The best part about the silibib is how easy cleanup is.  I simply have to wipe it clean with a damp cloth and I am finished.  If you need a deep cleaning I just have to throw it in the top part of my dishwasher and I am finished.  I wish all of BJ’s bibs were that easy to clean.  You can get the silibib in four different color combinations, and at only $12.95 it is affordable and definitely worth it.

For purposes of this review, I was sent a silibib from Silikids free of charge.  This review is my honest opinion and is not influenced by any other source.
