Koala Kuddles Review and Giveaway (Closed)

Preparing to have a baby is hard work.  There is so much parenting jargon that I was unaware of that I felt very overwhelmed at times.  For example, I had no idea what swaddling a baby ment.  I found out quickly how important and what a lifesaver swaddling was on the first day BJ was born.  Luckily my husband was aware enough to learn how to swaddle our son while I was recovering from my c-section.  Why swaddle?  Swaddling helps your baby sleep longer, it lowers the risk of SIDS, and it helps babies learn how to self-sooth themselves back to sleep.  One thing I learned early on is that not all swaddling blankets are made the same.

Koala Kuddles was created by a mom who moved to the United States from Australia who brought her muslin swaddling blankets with her.  American moms were enthralled with the Australian wraps and therefore Koala Kuddleswas born.  Koala Kuddles are swaddling blankets made out of  100% cotton weave (known as muslin in Australia).  This fabric minimizes the risk of baby over-heating because it allows excess heat to breathe through the fabric.  The fabric also allows for a tighter, more secure wrap allowing baby to sleep longer (and therefore mom).

We received a package of three swaddle blankets from Koala Kuddles for review. Like other muslin swaddle blankets the fabric is a little rough at first. The first time I purchased muslin blankets I was really surprised how they felt out of the package.  I highly suggest washing them as soon as possible. Do not be alarmed,  these blankets get softer and softer the more times you wash them. I loved the gender neutral design on Koala Kuddles blankets.  These blankets are the perfect size for newborns and infants.  They are also large enough to cover nursing mothers and strollers with sleeping infants.  BJ loves to cuddle with his Koala Kuddle.  I would highly recommend these swaddle blankets for a baby shower gift, I know I wish I had these blankets from the beginning.

My kids don’t teeth until they were 18 months so they dealt with it easier. I used teething tablets (little pills). They always worked.

For teething, I like to run the corners of a washcloth under water then free them. Babies love to chew of the cold icy corners and it is easy for them to hold on to and less messy than sugary solutions like frozen fruits and juices.

I used to freeze orange slices and then let the child chew/suck on them.

I know with my oldest he teethed for months and then 4 teeth came in at once. It got pretty miserable for a while. I don’t know if it worse for the kid or the mom watching them hurt.

    This too shall pass.

I love the Australian Animal Set.

As for teething remedies, rubbing whisky on the sore gum area always does the trick, not the babies but the mothers. Now that was a joke. I don’t think anything helps except to hold the baby, if you have a rocking chair then the rocking motion tends t lull the baby to sleep. That’s really all I found you could do. Oh and a good set of earplugs for mom! I am a fan on facebook and twitter and tweeted this contest plus I subscribed to the email newsletter

I couldn’t decide, so assorted! Expecting a new little one in 3-4 weeks. I would love to swaddle my little man in fresh new blankets rather than his brothers hand-me-downs.

The teething rings that you can put in your fridge was the best thing we had besides medicine. We always put several of them in a baggie to keep them clean and would swap out with clean ones. They need to be in there for several hours to get cold enough to help.
